How it Works
|
The LegSim minimizes wear and tear on joints and eliminates hopping.
Hartford Walking Systems compared the LegSim to crutches on the percent of body weight exerted on the arms while walking.
Transducers were installed on the LegSim and crutches to accurately
measure the forces exerted when using both devices. Results
indicate that walking with crutches causes users to exert more than
100% of their body weight on their arms and hands.
Users only exerted about one-third of their body weight when using the
LegSim, thereby reducing pressure on their arms and hands by more than
two-thirds compared to crutches.
